If you’re in the city in April, do try and make time to attend the annual Lantern Carnival, set up back in 2004 to celebrate the first anniversary of the end of the Iraq war. More than 3,000 people come to see the procession every year, with free lantern-making workshops going on every Saturday from January.
This stunning three-storey Victorian red brick building dates back to 1854, once the home of coffee roasters, tea blenders and wholesale grocers. Now, you’ll find all sorts of retro and vintage delights, as well as salvage items, antiques, furniture, arts and crafts, and a whole lot more.
Visit the Mayfield Alpaca Farm
This fun farm can be found on the outskirts of Sheffield, with more than 45 acres in the Mayfield Valley to its name. You can take a walk around the farm and meet the alpacas themselves, sure to be a great day out for all.
