Blackpool: Fun For The Whole Family

Matt Crisp June 24, 2017

With the sun coming out and bathing much of the UK in its warming rays, many of us are dreaming of our summer holidays and trying to work out where it’s best to head to for a few days at the beach.

Blackpool is a quintessential seaside town and one that everyone should visit at least once in their lives. It could also be the perfect place for a family getaway – or even for a larger group of friends – and if you arrange coach hire to Blackpool you could cut the cost of getting there too.

What is it about the north-west seaside resort that makes it so brilliant at this time of year? Firstly, its beach is fantastic. It’s sandy, and this year it received a coveted Blue Flag award for the second year running.

Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette last month, chief executive of Keep Britain Tidy Allison Ogden-Newton commented: “The success of Blackpool South in reaching the very high standards demanded by the Blue Flag is testament to all those who have worked so hard to create a fantastic beach.”

If that’s not enough to sway you, the town has plenty more to offer. During the summer months, Blackpool Pleasure Beach opens into the evening to offer late night riding and firework displays. There are special prices available for those who arrive late and stay late, as well as deals for anyone who wants to spend the whole day at the pleasure beach.

And even if the weather doesn’t go your way, you can always duck into one of the many indoor attractions Blackpool has to offer. If you’re missing out on the fireworks, try seeing a light show of a different kind in the form of Illuminasia at the Winter Gardens.
