Get Ready For Sheffield’s Art In The Gardens

Matt Crisp August 29, 2017

Art in the Gardens is set to return to Sheffield at the beginning of September, in what organisers describe as “arguably the largest outdoor exhibition in the north of England with artists, craft makers and visitors coming from throughout the UK”.

The scale of the event and its huge popularity mean that you need to plan how you’re getting to the event early – arranging luxury coach hire in Sheffield isn’t a bad idea if there is a group of you who want to enjoy all the exhibits and activities going on during 2nd and 3rd September.

And with the Sheffield Botanical Gardens hosting the event, it’s in a picturesque setting that perfectly complements the artworks dotted around.

Among the highlights are the outdoor sculptures on the lawns, an open art exhibition, and works by a host of premier artists and craft professionals.

Trevor Neal, Gareth Watling, Carol Baker, Tim Rose, Wendy Carlton and Lynne Wilkinson are just some of the excellent artists and crafters who will be exhibiting this year.

If you’re looking for some inspiration for your own home, then the new Home and Garden Showcase is likely to be of interest. Of course, there will also be dozens of artists selling their work at the festival too, so you could even pick up an original to take home with you.

There’s also a preview evening on 1st September this year, for adults only, where you can enjoy a glass (or two) of wine while you view the various exhibits. Make sure you’ve got your transport home organised so you can enjoy every aspect of the evening.
