How Can You Max Your Chances Of Getting Glastonbury Tickets?

Matt Crisp November 14, 2024

Tickets for Glastonbury 2025, including coach hire packages, went on sale on Thursday 14 November, and a further batch will be released on Sunday 17 November. By the time you read this, it’s likely that the tickets are already sold out: all 210,000 tickets for this summer’s event were snapped up in less than an hour.

All this is despite the fact that the organisers do not announce the headliners until a few months before the date of the festival, which will be held on 25-29 June 2025. Demand for the upcoming festival is likely to be more intense than ever, because 2026 will be a fallow year to allow the site a chance to recover, BBC News reports

This year, a new system is in place that is designed to make it slightly easier to bag tickets. A statement on the Glastonbury website explains: “The booking process itself for 2025 will be the same as in previous years, however, the way in which you join the booking process is changing.”

“Rather than refreshing the holding page to attempt to access the booking page, this year, when the ticket sale begins (at 6pm or 9am respectively) everyone who is already on the Glastonbury tickets page will randomly be assigned a place in a queue to access the booking process.”

This does not mean that there are any quick and easy routes to securing a ticket, however. Organiser Emily Eavis told the BBC: “It’s one of the worst parts of the job [because] we can’t do anything about it. We definitely can’t do two weekends. But a lot of the time. People who really, really want to come often get tickets through volunteering or through competitions.”

There’s no need to give up hope if you fail to bag tickets this time around: a resale of returned or unwanted tickets will take place in April 2025. As Emily mentioned, there are also other avenues such as competitions and volunteering to explore. Here are some ways you can maximise your chances of a prized trip to Worthy Farm next year.

Make sure you’re registered

A rule has been introduced that anyone who wants to buy tickets needs to register on the website in advance, in an effort to beat the touts. It’s too late to register for the November sale, but the registration process will generally re-open before the April re-sale. You’ll need photo ID such as a driving licence or passport to register.

Read the website guidelines

It’s easy to get carried away with excitement and skip the small print, but it’s important to read the ticket sale FAQs and guidelines on the website, particularly this year as the sale process has changed.

You’ll need to log on in advance of the sale opening to ensure a place of being randomly assigned in the queue, otherwise you will be automatically placed at the back. Don’t be tempted to use multiple devices or tabs, as this is likely to crash the browser or at least result in errors that could scupper your chances.

Have all your info to hand

You’ll obviously need to have your card details to hand and ensure that you have enough money for the deposit in your account (£75 per ticket, with the full balance of £375.50 plus a £5 booking fee due by April).

If you are travelling by coach, liaise with the other members of your group about which locations you are prepared to travel from. Sometimes, coach ticket packages from the nearest town to you may be sold out, but available for another town not too far away. Agree in advance which coaches you are happy to travel with.

Volunteer

Another route to Worthy Farm is through volunteering to work during the set up, duration, or dismantling and clean up operation of the festival in return for free tickets. Typically, you will need to work three eight hour shifts in return for a free ticket. There’s more details on the website, or you can contact organisations such as Oxfam and Festaff.

If you have any medical or first-aid training, you can also apply to be a first-aider at the festival in return for free entry.
