National Trust Days Out For Your Diary
If you’re planning things to do with your family this summer then you might be interested in minibus hire to get you around – and what better places to check out this summer than National Trust sites. The Derby Telegraph has rounded up all the best events happening at these sites over the coming months, so be sure to look out for one near you.
Enjoy the outdoors at Calke Abbey in Ticknall and enter through a secret door into their garden of imagination,. Fun for all the family, featuring a willow maze to venture through, as well as a walled kitchen garden to explore. Serving refreshments from the potting shed and wood fired pizzas from the outdoor oven, this day out is running from 14th July right through until 2nd September – let’s hope the good weather lasts that long.
Head to Grantham and visit Belton House where you can build your own kite and fly it on the grounds! Taking part only is costs on £2.50, so it’s a budget friendly day out to keep the kids entertained over the weekend of the 14th & 15th July.
Another budget friendly day out of fun, costing only £1 per person, takes place at Sudbury Hall and kicks off on July 21st for one month. There will be lots of outdoor activities and trails to discover as well as crafty workshops to keep the kids entertained.
At Kedelston Hall in Derby, the kids can get crafty and decorate their own willow butterfly and take it home at the end of the day. They will also be able to get creative with a variety of crafting supplies available. Taking part is £2.50 per willow butterfly and the event will run every Thursday from July 26th.
