Tickets Go On Sale For Bristol Sounds 2024 Music Festival

Matt Crisp December 10, 2023

If the cold gloomy days of December are causing you to crave some summer musical festival fun, then no doubt you will be cheered by the recent release of tickets for next year’s events. The latest open-air gig to announce its headline acts is Bristol Sounds, which will be returning for its tenth anniversary in June 2024.

The headliners include Skindred, Gentleman’s Dub Club, The Skints and The Breeders, with further artists to be announced shortly. The event takes place across three dates on Saturday June 22, Sunday June 23 and Saturday June 30 2024. Tickets for individual passes and coach hire packages are available from Crosstown Concerts from 8 December.

Event promoter Conal Dodds of Crosstown Concerts said: “We’re proud to announce our 10th anniversary of harbourside shows with a bill that represents the city’s diverse musical tastes and heritage. We’re really excited to bring some great names to play in one of Bristol’s best locations. 2024 is set to be the biggest Bristol Sounds to date.”

He added: “There will be four all day shows over consecutive weekends alongside three evening only events.”

The event will comprise four all-day shows over the course of two consecutive weekends along with three evening events at the iconic harbourside location of Lloyds Amphitheatre.

Proceedings will kick off with an all-day open air rock music event headlined by Welsh act Skindred. They formed in Newport in 1998 and have found lasting success with their blend of heavy metal, punk and reggae. They are notable for their energetic live performances and have an army of devoted fans.

Other music events taking place in Bristol next year include Love Saves the Day at Ashton Court on the bank holiday weekend of Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May. It’s Bristol’s biggest independent music festival and is known for featuring top world class acts as well as up and coming artists.

Last year Fatboy Slim, Sugarbabes, and Years & Years topped the bill. Next year’s headliners are yet to be announced, but tickets are already on sale with the promise that some of the biggest names in the dance industry will be performing.

For those of you who can’t wait until next summer, the intriguing Bristol Festival of Music, Speech & Drama takes place in March. This is dubbed as the ‘Bristol Eisteddfod’ after the long-standing annual Welsh arts and culture festival. The event was founded in 1903 by William Fowler, who felt that there should be an all-inclusive version of the Welsh event.

The Bristol event takes place across 2-26 March 2024 and features an eclectic range of classical music, spoken word, and drama, at various venues across the city. Tickets are very affordable, with one-day adult passes at £3 and family passes at £8. Two day adult passes are £5 and family passes are £12.
