Top Tips For Celebrating The Royal Wedding In London

Matt Crisp April 9, 2018

In case you weren’t aware – and how could you have missed it?! – Prince Harry will be getting married to Meghan Markle on 19 May 2018. It’s the biggest wedding of the year and understandably there are a lot of people who want to share the fun of the big day.

But given how popular it’s going to be, it pays to arrange your luxury minibus hire in London early and to book in for a special treat or two if you want to make the day truly memorable.

Londonist has recently offered some suggestions of what you can do and where you can go on 19 May to mark the occasion.

There are few things quite as British as sitting down to afternoon tea, and there are some wonderful places in the capital to do just that. Fortnum’s is offering a Right Royal Celebration Afternoon Tea, complete with champagne and the chance to watch the ceremony live, while at Rubens Hotel you can tuck into a Royal Afternoon Tea.

One top tip is to head to the Southbank Centre for its free Tea Dance on 19 May. The fun starts from 11am and there will be tea, music and dancing to keep you entertained.

For something a bit more active, you can take a Prince Harry walking tour around London. Over the course of two hours you’ll visit sites important to the prince and the rest of the royal family, as well as hear the story of how Harry and Meghan met.

These walking tours are available on Sundays from April to October, so you don’t need to be in the capital on the weekend of the wedding to join one.

If, on the other hand, you’d rather avoid the wedding, Londonist had some suggestions for this too – especially if you’re in the capital that weekend. There are a host of other things happening, including the final evening of the Museums at Night event and the London Motor Show.
