What’s On At This Year’s UK Prides
If you’re planning on touring the UK’s celebrations of LGBT culture, hopefully you’d already booked your coach hire for the summer’s first in Birmingham over the May Bank Holiday weekend. If not, time to make sure you fill your diary with the other dates from across the UK, and get the low down on what’s happening at these colourful events.
Pride in London, 7th July
Over a month’s worth of events all lead up to a one-day spectacular which promises to be one of the biggest, loudest parades in the UK. Keep an eye on the website for other events attend, but otherwise, head down to the parade route for a fun-filled day which is free to attend.
Belfast Pride, from the 27th July
Belfast’s week long celebration won LGBT event of the year in Ireland last year, so if you’re planning a trip to the emerald isle, this is the pride to head to.
Liverpool Pride, 28th-29th July
Some prides are problematic for being expensive or hard to get tickets to, however, Liverpool’s offering is one of the biggest free prides in the UK. Three stages will host the likes of Atomic Kitten, Katy B and Heather Small, so something for all tastes!
Brighton Pride, 4th-5th August
Brighton Pride has made headline news this year by securing Britney Spears ahead of her UK tour. Do you need to know anything else?
Manchester Pride, 24th -27th August
Held in Manchester’s infamous Gay Village, Manchester’s Big Weekend is always held in high regard. This year, Rita Ora and Scissor Sisters headline.
