Where To Travel To In September

Matt Crisp September 6, 2018

If you’re already missing the summer sun and all those lovely holidays, and fancy a quick trip away somewhere this month to get away from it all before the winter and Christmas madness begins, then don’t delay – book away! Here are a few places that are perfect for travelling to this September. Enjoy!

Croatia

This is a really popular place for jetsetters at the moment and if you’re chasing some late summer sun, you could certainly do an awful lot worse. There are stunning beaches, beautiful architecture, lovely ports and a whole lot more, just waiting to be discovered.

Vietnam

An intriguing choice for some, perhaps, but Vietnam is lovely at this time of year because the days are still nice and sunny but any rain you get hit with will be relatively short-lived. Do make sure you go to Hanoi, ripe with history and bustling with energy, and ensure you do a spot of trekking around Sapa for some amazing views of the renowned golden rice terraces.

Albania

Looking for something a little different? Albania should be at the top of your travel list, in that case, with some incredible mountains, beautiful beaches, delicious food and friendly locals. You’ll have a wonderful time and you’re sure to want to come back again and again.

New York

This is an amazing time of year to visit New York because the leaves are starting to turn on the trees and you’ll be in time for Fall Foliage, as it’s known. It’s famous around the world for being an absolutely stunning spectacle and you really should go to see it at least once in your lifetime.

There’s a Fall Foliage Map for this year that you can look at to see where you can go in September to see the changing of the leaves so have a quick look and plan your next trip.

China

For an exciting time away, pop off to China this month and you’ll be in time for the Mid-Autumn Festival, taking place this year on September 24th. This harvest festival is celebrated when the moon is at its fullest, with mooncake always on the menu each year. This is the second most important festival in the country after Chinese New Year so you know you’re going to be in for a treat if you go.

Get yourself in the mood for it by making your own mooncakes, made from wheat flour and filled with the likes of fruit, lotus seeds, nuts, red beans and egg. You can find a lovely recipe on the Fine Dining Lovers website.

Jordan

This is a lovely time to visit the Middle East and if you’ve never been to Jordan, you’re in for a treat. The days are nice and warm but the nights are cool, so you don’t need to worry about dealing with extremes of temperature. And the best bit is that it won’t be overrun by tourists at this time of year, so you will have it all to yourself!
